Apple has just released illustrative videos to showcase its new content format, giving an opportunity to review the steps for using it.
If you already know the term selfie, then you may have a clue about the origin of the word slofie “Slow-mo Selfie “. This one is indeed taken from portrait mode, but also from slow which recalls slow-motion, a technique of shooting in slow motion. The concept is simple: it’s about shooting at a faster frame rate than usual.
Below is an example of what a record like this might look like. We note, among other things, that it is possible to use this feature even with several people: an asset for family photos at this end of the year period. Like Live Photos, slofies can be posted on Twitter.
How to make a slofie?
Here’s how to do it on an Apple device:
- Open the Camera app
- Activate the front camera using the perspective flip button
- Scroll the menu from the bottom of the screen to the left
- Click on Slow motion mode
- Film the scene
Please note, however, that this tool is not accessible to everyone: on the iPhone XR, it is impossible to use the front lens during slow motion mode. However, everything works with the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro. You still need to have the latest version of iOS, but it’s classic.
