This book has all kinds of impressive blurbs on the back cover, including praise from Margaret Atwood and Sherman Alexie himself who has never struck me as blodoletting easy to please type – I initially sought it out because of a really favorable review in Entertainment Weekly.

Lists with This Book. The characters all feel so real and human, the drama and circumstances around each story seem plausible. Bloodletting is an honest and revealing work, which entertains while challenging the reader to reflect on some of the ethical issues presented.

In the care of his prose, Ming, Sri, Chen and Fitz are more than words on a page. By the end of the book, however, I was fully satisfied that I had seen enough of each character’s struggles and gifts to give me a sense of their unique personality and how they had changed — for good and for bad blodletting during curres lives.
