I avoided it as my next book choice many times not wanting to tackle something that would take up so much time. Women are basically treated like property. I actually went out and purchased the next book when I was half way through this first one.
El Clan del Oso Cavernario
Iza has cavenrario left a widow by the quake, but is a very powerful medicine woman, so is provided for by Creb, the highly libgo Mogur, or magician, of the clan who also happens to be her sibling.
I didn’t think the topic would be interesting but I’m thankful I was wrong. It’s nice to be able to so firmly identify myself as being on a character’s side from the first few chapters in a book. She’s dead, and still cavefnario won. Indeed, she’s much too strong, competent and intelligent for some of the Clan to accept in a woman and judging from critical and reader reactions, some moderns aren’t very cool with it either!
The cro-magnons eventually replaced the Neanderthals when the Neanderthals failed to keep evolving.
She’s known nothing but the strictures of the Clan. Ayla should have been the son of my mate. Paperbackpages. I really enjoyed the creativity and ingenuity Auel bought to the Clan and their magic, and I feel like it worked really well as a vital cavernqrio of the story and culture for this world.
I have no doubt that after reading this story you will be just as hooked caernario I am and I’m sure you’ll end up devouring the rest of the series! To see what your friends thought of this book, please sign up. You will not be disappointed.
El Clan del Oso Cavernario by Jean M. Auel (5 star ratings)
It was my turn to share a book I really liked, and I named this one. I think that dynamic is what made this book so riveting to me.
I loved the main character Ayla; one of the bravest woman characters I’ve ever come across in a story. Auel 5 26 Jul 09, Ayla’s story isn’t without struggle and difficulty, but it also contains strength and love and a ferocity that I absolutely adore. Ayla is without a doubt one of my favorite fictional characters, she suffers so much hardship but she never gives in and she always fights to survive.
I had no idea you were so good. I grabbed this book and have gone back to Cave man times to hold onto my sanity. The minimal dialogue feels natural and comfortable.
I reread this recently and decided to upgrade it to 5 stars. She was a fine narrator and I became very used to her reading for Ayla and the other characters.
As a lover of the Historical Fiction genre, a book about prehistory is the ultimate. And you finish the book knowing you want to continue to the next book.
Thanks for telling us about the problem. A pregnant woman comes across the unconcious body of the girl, and despite her physical differences asks, and receives permission, to carry and tend to the girl. This is truly a 5-star rated experience. And the setting is so unique, the writing so vibrant, This was a fantastic book. And the setting is so unique, the writing so vibrant, that I imagine most people will find themselves engaged. Though none of them have reviewed it, a dozen of my Goodreads friends have given it ratings, ranging from one star to five.
A truly amazing, captivating and fascinating series that will stay at the very top of my all time favourites list. Ayla is not only a quick learner, but an inuitive one.
This novel of awesome beauty and power is a moving saga about people, relationships, and the boundaries of love. As far as historical fiction in concerned, The Clan of the Cave Cavernarip is likely far more Fiction than historical.
Narrator was okay, but read a bit fast and with without enough inflection at times View all 5 comments. I really liked this book so much that I even acquired a copy, however, after reading it the first time, I felt deceived. This is the caavernario of her culture clashing and melding with theirs. The story never let up, even with the few instances of repetition scattered throughout.
Want to Read Currently Reading Read. The majority of the issues that I may have had with the book were petty and not worth mentioning. Of course the magic described by Auel is certainly imagined more than researched, but there may well be grains of the truth scattered in.
Here you have this really advanced girl being raised by cwvernario species who are essentially backwards by comparison.
