During the IFA 2023 tech event held in Berlin, Germany, on September 1st, Honor made an announcement about the introduction of the new Honor Magic V2 and another foldable phone for the global market. Today, the brand confirmed that it will also host a launch event in China on September 13th at 2:30 PM (local time). While no official confirmation has been provided by Honor regarding the devices to be unveiled on this date, speculation suggests that the brand might announce the Honor Magic V2 or the Magic V Slim.

Recently, an Honor device with model number VCA-AN00 was spotted on Chinese certification platforms such as MIIT and 3C. The 3C certification revealed that the device would support 35W fast charging. Rumors circulating about the device claim that it might be Honor’s first external foldable phone, though specific details about the device remain scarce.
Currently, Huawei is the only other brand that offers externally foldable smartphones. Last year, Huawei launched the Mate Xs 2 in China, featuring a 7.8-inch foldable screen and a 6.5-inch cover display.
In related news, it’s also mentioned that Honor is working on another foldable phone, the Honor Magic V2 Lite (Youth Edition). Priced at around 6,000 yuan, it’s expected that the Magic V2 Lite’s specifications will be somewhat similar to the Snapdragron 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset and a 5,500mAh battery with 66W rapid charging. It’s speculated that this device might be launched in China in October.
