In its 46th AGM, Reliance Industries’ Chairman, Mukesh Ambani, disclosed some significant plans for Reliance Jio. The Jio AirFiber service is all set to launch on September 19, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. Notably, Ambani also mentioned that Jio’s 5G services are on track to cover the entire country with an ultra-high-speed network by December 2023.
With a customer base exceeding 450 million, Jio has already managed to cover 96% of cities with its 5G network. The company is determined to achieve nationwide coverage by December. The average monthly data consumption per user has surged, now surpassing 25GB.
Mukesh Ambani shared, “Jio was launched seven years ago with a mission to transform India into a major digital society.” He further highlighted Jio’s pivotal role in India’s remarkable digital transformation, stating, “We have invested our heart and soul in building a strong foundation of a digital public infrastructure, which the world is praising.”
Talking about Jio’s 5G initiatives, Ambani said, “Let’s first discuss Jio True 5G, our leading 5G broadband offering. We initiated our 5G rollout last October, and within just nine months, Jio 5G has already covered over 96% of the population in cities.”
Looking ahead, Jio aims to cover the entire country with its 5G network by December. With more than 50 million 5G subscribers, Jio has already established itself as a frontrunner in 5G adoption in India. Mukesh Ambani highlighted Jio’s unique position, stating, “We are the only company capable of effortlessly transitioning our entire 4G customer base to 5G with minimal additional capital spend.”
The company’s revenue trends are on an upward trajectory, witnessing an increase in high-ARPU (Average Revenue Per User) and postpaid customers, along with a growing trend of 5G usage. It’s evident that customers are choosing Jio as their preferred network in the ever-evolving digital landscape.
