After its launch earlier this year for Windows desktop, the WhatsApp app with Meta ownership is now available for macOS. Designed to be familiar to Mac users and optimized for seamless functioning on larger screens, this new WhatsApp version for macOS offers features similar to what users are accustomed to on its Android, iOS, and Windows counterparts.

According to the announcement, “Users can now make group calls from their Mac for the first time, connecting up to eight people on video calls and up to 32 on audio calls.” Users can also join group calls once they have started, view call history, and even choose to receive incoming call notifications even when the app is closed.
Mac users can easily share files by dragging and dropping them into the chat, and they can also access chat history, just like in other versions of the app.
For those looking to download WhatsApp on their Mac, follow these steps:

- Look for the download option in green. Click on it.
- Three download options will be presented: Android, iOS, and Mac. Tap on the option for Mac.
- This will initiate the download.
- Once downloaded, click on the app and log in to your account.
With WhatsApp now available on macOS, users can seamlessly extend their messaging and calling experience to their Mac devices.
